I have finally completed my cape, only a year in the making.

I used Simplicity Pattern 3959

I used  a tweed houndstooth with orange going throught it, with an orange lining

This is the first time i have made a cape like this and i love it…. it was a bit tricky in some spots but i worked through it.. i had issues with making the button hole so i am going to find a frog closure and use that instead 🙂

i am really excited and cant wait to wear it…..

That Never Ending Quest

Any sewer knows that you are on an never ending quest for that perfect pattern that does not require a whole lot of altering.  Or for that pattern that will match that killer designer dress that costs 3 pay checks.  So to up my sewing IQ i took this pattern making class that was offered at Hancock Fabrics

It is a method that is used in europe *or so they say* i dont care if it is used on the moon, i loved it.  I bought the book that has a ton of sample patterns that you build off of to make the pattern that will fit you.  I have made it to pattern heaven lol

Once i have finished my cape *which will be this weekend* i will start working on doing one of these patterns i am so excited woohoo

And yes it goes up to plus sizes too because you use your own measurements 🙂
